Shipwreck Map

Between 1786 and 1950, over 70 shipwrecks have occurred along Vancouver Island’s southwest coast. Mariners know this area as the Graveyard of the Pacific. Treacherous waterways, little light navigation, uncharted reefs and lack of advanced radar and radio are just some of the reasons so many ships and lives were lost.
